Description: The Pashtun are considered the largest tribe in the world. Though historically most Pashtun live in Afghanistan, there are now twice as many Pashtun living in Pakistan due to the unrest in their traditional homeland.
Prayer Points:
• The Pakistani Pashtun live in fear of the Taliban, a Muslim extremist group which originiated in Afghanistan. Pray for courage to stand up against this group and that many Taliban would come to faith in Jesus.
• A breakthrough among the Baloch in Pakistan has resulted in missionaries being sent from this movement to reach the Pashtun. Pray for God's blessing on these efforts and that other believers in Pakistan might catch a vision for reaching their Pashtun neighbors.
• There is one church among the Pakistani Pashtun in the Northwest Frontier Province, the area where the Taliban are most active. Pray for protection over these faithful believers and for a Pashtun pastor to be raised up for this congregation.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may your healing grace be poured out upon the Pashtun through the presence of your Son Jesus in their midst.
