Description: The Drawa Berbers are a confederation of small Berber tribes which live in the Dra river valley of Morocco. They tend to have a darker complexion than other Berbers in Morocco and speak a variety of Arabic that is closer to Hassaniya than standard Moroccan Arabic.
Prayer Points:
• The rich valley of the Dra has been a contexted area for centuries with constant warfare between nomadic tribes for its control. The sedentary Drawa farmers have always born the brunt of this warfare. Pray that this land would experience the healing power of Christ and renewal through the gospel.
• The Drawa staged a powerful and succesful campaign of resistance against Portuguese occupation led by the marabout, or sufi religious leaders. These leaders are still highly influential today. Pray for the salvation of the marabout and that many of them would lead their people into Salvation and resistance against the evil one.
• The Dra region was used as a staging ground for the Islamic invasion of Western Africa. Pray that from this region will come the proclamation of the gospel of peace found in Christ.

Every year 4,000 Drawa Berbers die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
