Description: The Telugu are a Dravidian people living principally in the Indian states of Telangana and Andhra. Their language is the largest in the Dravidian family. Although a significant number have become believers among the untouchables, the middle castes and high caste Hindus remain largely unreached.

• Agriculture is the chief source of income for the Telugu. Unfortunately drought has affected much of the rice, sugarcane and cotton crops in recent years. Pray for blessing to come to this region through God's people as righteousness through Christ increases in the land.
• In the early 20th century the gospel spread rapidly among the lower caste Telugu. However, in the last thirty years, tens of thousands were re-converted in an aggresive campaign by Hindu fundamentalists. Pray for those enduring persecution that they would stand firm in their faith and evangelize their persecutors.
