Description: Jordan's Bedouins live primarily east of the Desert Highway in an inhospitable region that makes up the vast majority of the countries landmass. It is considered a wasteland, but somehow thousands of Bedouin have survived there for untold centuries.
Prayer Points:
• Jordanian Bedouins are strong supporters of the Jordanian ruling family and receive special favors and assistance from the government. Even so, they are becoming restless and demanding more answers to the perceived poverty their community faces in areas where they have been forced to settle. Pray for Christ-centered sustainability projects to assist them.
• Bedouins are highly organized according to clans, tribes and tribal confederations. Pray that the leaders among them might be open to the gospel and its proclamation in their midst.
• Bedouins are famous for their hospitality and the tradition that no visitor is turned away. Pray that many visitors who love Jesus would come dwell among them and learn their language and culture.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may the light of Christ and the truth of your Word dwell richly among the Jordanian Bedouins through hearts set aflame by His love.
Every year 7,000 Jordanian Bedouins die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
