Description: The Tubu people are divided into two subgroups called the Teda and the Daza, who share a common ancestry but now speak two distinct languages. As with other Muslim groups in Chad, they make up a large percentage of the political class of the country.
Prayer Points:
• The traditional nomadic lifestyle of the Tuba, which centers around caring for their lifestock, has been severely affected by climate change, forcing many men to seek work in the cities. Pray that Chadian believers in these cities might reach out to Tubu migrants with the love and compassion of Christ.
• Women are highly valued in Tubu society and take on a leadership role when their husbands are away. Pray that God might raise up a Jesus movement among Tubu women and enable them to use their influence to reach their entire people.
• Tubu tribes in Libya have been severely persecuted by the Arabs, even to the point of ethnic-cleansing. Pray that this mistreatment might lead them to find hope in the one true Prince of Peace.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, you alone are the hope and answer for the needs of the Tubu. May they find in Jesus the complete sufficiency for facing the many challenges which now confront their people.
Every year 4,000 Tubu die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
