Description: The Lebanese are the descendants of the ancient Phoenicians who inhabited this land during Biblical times. After the Arab conquest in the 7th century the population came under the influence of Arabization and Islamization.
Prayer Points:
• Lebanon was once an historic center of Christianity but is now under the control of radical Muslim groups like Hezbollah, a terrorist organization. Pray for deliverance from spiritual and political oppression and for the restoration of civil and religious freedoms throughout the country.
• Lebanon is still recovering from a devastating civil war over thirty years ago which involved Christians fighting against Muslims. Pray for the healing of Christ to come to this broken land and for bridges to be rebuilt through Christian ministries of peace, reconciliation and compassion.
• Lebanon has taken in over 1 million refugees from Syria, many of which have expressed openness to the gospel. Pray that the Church in Lebanon might have wisdom to effectively evangelize and disciple those whom the Spirit of God is drawing to himself.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, restore what the evil one has taken from the Lebanese people and bring new hope to their lives through the gospel.
