Description: The Pa-O are related to the Karen people-cluster and are the only Karen ethncity that have embraced the Buddhist faith. Their neighbors are the Buddhist Shan people and they are the largest minority in Myanmar's Shan State. Due to the unrest in Northern Myanmar many have fled to Thailand's Mae Hong Son Province.
Prayer Points:
• There are at least 2 million believers among the related Karen tribes in Myanmar. Pray that God would raise up hundreds of workers from these Karen believers to evangelize their Pa-O cousins.
• Although the Bible is now availabe in the Pa-O language and the Jesus Film, no radio broadcast has yet begun in their language. Pray for the development of evangelistic media and resources for the Pa-O.
• There are estimated to be at least 24 distinct sub-groups among the Pa-O, which are grouped into two clusters of the Lowland and Highland Pa-O. Pray for the beginning of a church-planting movement that will fully impact all of these sub- groups and regions of the Pa-O.
