Description: The Khampa are a Tibetan-related tribe which occupy a large stretch of territory, cutting accross Central Tibet and extending into eastern Sichuan province. In 1720 the Chinese annexed "Kham province", igniting unrest which resulted in 3,000 monks being killed.
Prayer Points:
• Some Khampa clans continue to practice a nomadic lifestyle on mountain plateaus that can range as high as 17,000 feet. There are no known believers among them. Pray that God would raise up believers with a heart for these difficult to reach groups.
• The Khampa have been brutally treated by the Han Chinese for centuries. Pray for reconciliation to come through Chinese believers who bring the prince of peace.
• The Khampa have aggresively resisted Chienese occupation. Pray that this cultural trait of defiance might be captured for the glory of God and channeled into a missionary vision to bring Jesus to every Tibetan tribe.
A Prayer: Lord Jesus, may Tibet's high places bow in your presence and magnify your name.
Every year 17,000 Khampas die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
