Description: The Phu Thai are a minority people in Thailand, whose language and culture are closely related to the Tai Dam and Tai Don. Although they have a righ cultural heritage, the younger generation is increasingly being influenced by the larger Thai culture of Thailand, and the Isaan people whom they live among.
Prayer Points:
• There is yet no Bible Translation or Jesus Film available in the Phu Thai language, although some audio recordings have been made of Bible stories. Pray that the few believers among the Phu Thai might be equipped to develop more Scripture resources for their people.
• The Phu Thai populations in Thailand and Laos have been engaged and church- planting ministries are underway, however in Vietnam no church-planting activity is occuring. Pray for God's blessing on the work in Thailand and Laos, and for obstacles to be removed in the work in Vietnam.
• Although most Phu Thai have embraced Buddhism, the real spiritual power in their culture is held by femal shamans (moi yau). Pray for the salvation of these women and for their calling as priests in God's kingdom.
