Description: The Hadrami are an Arab ethnicity whose traditional homeland in Southern Yemen is called Hadrahmaut today. There are an estimated 1,300 tribes among them, some of which are nomadic.
Prayer Points:
• The Hadrami were a seafaring people that established trading outposts all over the world. Many of these communities still exist today and are quite large. Pray that in these lands the Hadrami diaspora might find Jesus and bring the gospel back to their homeland.
• The Hadrami have a highly segregated society in which people rarely marry outside their class. The highest class are the Sadhus who claim to be direct descendants of Muhammad. Pray for spiritual breakthrough among every class of Hadrami society and for reconciliation between them in Christ.
• Osama Bin Laden was a Hadrami and through his influence many Hadrami communities around the world were influenced by radical Islamic ideas. Pray that God's purposes for the Hadrami might be restored and that one day they might become emisarries of the Prince of Peace.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may the Hadrami be a people that exalt your name and glorify your Son Jesus. May they experience the power of your salvation wherever they are found.
Every year 5,000 Hadrami Arabs die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
