Description: The Kuwaiti Arabs descend from a cluster of Arabian tribes which came from all over the Middle East and settled around a kout (sea-fortress, from which the name Kuwait derives) in the 17th century. Their language, known as Gulf Arabic, is spoken by Emirati, Bahraini and Qatari Arabs
Prayer Points:
• A number of Kuwaitis have become believers while visiting Christian countries for business and study. Pray for sensitivity among Christians, especially on college campuses, to the Holy Spirit's leading in reaching out to their Kuwaiti friends
• An estimated 10,000 born-again believers are serving as foreign contract workers in Kuwait. Pray for divine opportunities to share the gospel with their coworkers and neighbors.
• Pray for effective follow up with all those Kuwaiti Arabs listening to Christian short-wave radio broadcasts (an estimated 50,000, many of which have participated in Bible correspondence courses). Pray for the organization of hundreds of small groups and the training of local leaders.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, be exalted and glorified among the Kuwaiti Arabs. May the name of your Son Jesus be lifted high above all other names.
