Description: The Tai Lue are the largest people group in the Dai people cluster in China. Their traditional homeland in southern Yunnan province straddles the borders between China and many neighboring countries, resulting in their population being divided in at least five nations.
Prayer Points:
• The Tai Lue practice sacred rites each year to honor their ancestors. The entire village is sealed off from the outside world. Pray that in the midst of these ceremonies the Holy Spirit might speak supernaturally to the Tai Lue and deliver them from bondage to evil spirits.
• The gospel was first preached to the Tai Lue in the 1920s and a few families responded. Due to persecution these believers ended up forming their own village which still exists today. Pray that the gospel might find a permanent places in the hearts and lives of the Tai Lue, and for the outpouring of God's spirit on the descendants of these first believers.
• The Tai Lue lands have suffered from deforestation due to population overgrowth. Pray for creative solutions to this problem that can serve as a platform for engaging the Tai Lue with the gospel.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, break into the darkness of the Tai Lue and grant them an unquenchable desire to see the truth in Jesus.
Every year 12,000 Tai Lue die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
