Description: The Nepali (also known as Khas) are the predominate people in the Pahari cluster of Northern India and Nepal. They make up 40% of the population of Nepal, with another three million living in India. Having never been conquered by the British, they were able to form a unique kingdom separate from British India.
Prayer Points:
• The church saw significant growth in the last thirty years and faces widespread persecution, including new restrictive laws about conversion. Pray for boldness among Nepali believers and for the deepening of their faith through effective discipleship.
• Nepali Brahmin (priests) and Chhetri (warrior caste) are two people groups in Nepali society that have seen less response to the gospel. Pray that Christian leaders would be raised up from among these communities with anointing to powerfully proclaim the word of God to their people.
• Nepali young girls have been exploited through sex-trafficking groups more than any other people. An estimated 300,000 have been taken as slaves into India. Pray for their deliverance and restoration, and for the salvation of those involved in this crime.
