Description: The Rajasthani are a cluster of closely related language groups that share a common heritage and live in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Their various sub-groups descend from successive waves of nomadic and military incursions by dozens of Central Asian peoples.
Prayer Points:
• The name Rajasthan means "land of the kings." The Rajasthani are proud of their heritage which includes many powerful kingdoms throughout history. Pray that their hearts might be captivated by God's kingdom and that they might welcome Jesus as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
• A major sub-group of the Rajasthani are the Jats, which have a historic reputation for courage in battle and national defense. They have a strong presence in the Indian army and police forces. Pray that they might become change-agents in their community and nation as they enter into the will of God through Christ.
• There are at least eight Rajasthani dialects that need a separate version of Scripture, the largest of which is Marwari. Pray for those working on these projects that they might have grace to complete the work and good cooperation from mother-tongue language consultants.
